Is a Certified Pre-Owned copier covered by the warranty?

Yes. Certified Pre-Owned is the standard condition for machines Copier1 sells, and it is the condition the whole warranty is written for: 30 days parts and labor, 5 years major components, 3 years whole-machine replacement.

How long is Copier1's copier warranty?

Five years on major component parts, from the delivery date. Within that, the first 30 days include labor as well as parts, and the first 3 years include replacement of the whole machine if it cannot be repaired. After year three, major component replacement continues for the useful life of the machine with a deductible.

Question 3

Does the Copier1 warranty include labor?

Accepted Answer

For the first 30 days, yes — 100% of parts and labor. After that it is a parts warranty. Labor is available through a maintenance plan or per incident.

Question 4

Will buying toner elsewhere void my copier warranty?

Accepted Answer

No. What is not covered is damage caused by a supply that was not compatible with the machine. That is a real risk with unmatched toner and developer, which is why Copier1 stocks supplies matched to every machine it sells, but using another vendor does not by itself cancel coverage.

Can I return a copier to Copier1?

Accepted Answer

Two routes. If the machine will not perform to the manufacturer's published specification, it can be exchanged free of a restocking fee for 6 months from the invoice date, once Copier1 has had a reasonable chance to repair it. For a refund, request it within 30 days of delivery; a 20% restocking fee applies and freight is the customer's. Either route requires an RMA number first.

What is Copier1's restocking fee?

20% on an approved return for refund. There is no restocking fee on an exchange of a machine that will not meet specification.

Question 7

Is the copier drum covered by the warranty?

Accepted Answer

On Toshiba console models, for the useful life of the machine. On other brands, 6 months or 40,000 copies, whichever comes first. Drum coverage is for the drum or photoreceptor itself, not for a complete imaging unit, and there is no separate drum coverage where the drum is only sold inside a sealed cartridge.

Does the warranty transfer if I sell the machine?

No. Coverage is for the original purchaser and ends on sale or transfer of the equipment.

Question 9

When does the warranty period start?

On the delivery date — the day the machine arrives at the address on the invoice, not the day it was ordered. Every period in the agreement runs from that date.

How do I make a warranty claim with Copier1?

Remote sessions can be booked at book.copier1.com/remote and on-site technicians requested at book.copier1.com/service-call. Repairs Copier1 is to pay for must be approved by Copier1 management before the work is done.
